Necton Area Trust
Kett's Hill Woodland
In 2019, Necton Parish Council acquired from Breckland District Council, a forgotten piece of Necton which was used to extract gravel from over a hundred years ago until it was abandoned. Since 1947 it had become completely overgrown and out of official public bounds, although it was a favourite secret place for children of the village to explore during the 1970's and early 80's.

This woodland project will sympathetically restore the space into a community recreational area providing healthy outdoor pursuits for all. Paths will meander through the area and give a peaceful and tranquil space for the enjoyment of all residents.

In July 2023, this site was officially opened to the public for residents and visitors to enjoy. A small group of volunteers help maintain the existing paths and development work continues, to enhance the space for both social and environmental benefit.
